Consists of papers relating to the Clarkson family of Tennessee. A large part of the collection centers around T.A. Clarkson and his efforts to fund a monument to Confederate hero Sam Davis. Also included are materials relating to the Nashville, Chattanooga, and St. Louis Railroad, the Tennessee Centennial Exposition, the John W. Thomas monument, and tributes to Maj. E.C. Lewis, as well as marriage bonds for William Ray and Mary Meness, 1779, and James Whitsett and Jennie Meness, 1792.
